The French Toasts

Time to prepare: 10min

 

​Ingredients : (for 4 people)

  • Bread (We prefer the toast ones but it could also be some baguette, even an old hard piece!)

  • 2 eggs

  • around 50g of sugar

  • 1/2 L of milk

  • Cinnamon (option)

  • Butter

 

The proportions depend of the quantity of bread and also of the thickness of the slices. 

 

Preparation:

 

In a bowl mix the sugar with the eggs and pour this mix in a plate/dish with edges.

In another plate pour some milk (I prefer do it on several time while needed and don't waste any if pouring all the milk in one time).

​The choice of the dish depend of the size of your bread slice, they must fit in it well.

 

Put one slice of bread in the milk (Avoid too thin slices or too large ones as they may be broken easily), then put them in the egg/sugar mix on each side.​ In a pan, hot, put some butter and grill each side of your bread to make them softly brown. 

You can add some icing sugar, sugar, cinnamon or chocolate powder as your convenience.

Best to eat while it is still hot!
